This site will be a place to collect resources and teacher-made products that you may find helpful in implementing Storytown.
• The STORYTOWN RESOURCES SAD6 buttons lead to collections of resources many teachers use on a day by day basis: powerpoint presentations, vocabulary word lists, etc. Many of these resources have been adopted from the amazing Alabama school system at http://www.pcboe.net/les/elderweb/harcourtresources.htm .
• The LESSON SLIDESHOWS button will take you to a page at created by Tancie West of the John S. Jones Elementary School in Rainbow City, Alabama. Tancie has created PowerPoint slide shows for almost all the grade 3 Storytown Lessons. (Copies of these slideshows, edited for the SAD 6 curriculm, are posted on the Storytown Resources page.) If you are used to using LCD projectors, the slide show is a fun way to present grammar, robust vocabulary, and other items.
• The READ ALOUD ANTHOLOGY button leads to a page where the stories from the grade 3 teacher's Read Aloud Anthology are available in PDF format.
• Word Work Activities are printable word sorts, puzzles, and other word work activities.
• Trade Book Activites are discussion packets for trade books being used in guided reading groups. Multiple copies of these books are available. Let me know if you want to try some of these titles with your reading groups.
• Sites for Teachers will link you to sites in other districts where Storytown resources are available for downloading.
• Sites for Students are links to read alouds, spelling, and grammar sites your students might enjoy. |
